Mayday Personnel are recruiting for a Business Development Executive to join our client in Totton (SO40). They providing bespoke, radio-based communications to organisations both in the UK and overseas. Successful candidate will be managing the sales process for new and existing customers.

Main duties will include:

  • Achieve territory target and diversified revenue across multiple industries

  • Maintain data within the CRM system, ensure it is up to date with contact details, industry sector etc

  • Conversion of customer enquiries into sales

  • Pro-active outbound sales activity with prospective customers

  • Up-sell/cross-sell to customers, appropriate to their needs

  • Strengthen customer relationships through regular sales contact and engagement

  • Development and delivery of focused business plans to meet targets and business objectives

  • Joint responsibility for first line response to telephone enquiries

  • Ensure opportunities are inputted onto the CRM system with estimated close dates and probability

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge of the industry including changing trends, economic indicators impacting on sales and competitors.

  • Ensure all telephone enquiries are answered

  • Manage time to achieve the key performance indicators for the role.

  • Appraise own performance and contribute towards own development of the knowledge & skills required to achieve results

Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, would be an advantage

  • Proven ability to build effective commercial relationships

  • The ability to turn goals into practical and achievable actions and set yourself clear targets

  • Possess excellent presentation and negotiation skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with high attention to detail

  • Excellent IT skills – in particular Excel, PowerPoint and Word

  • A familiarity with CRM systems
